I’m currently reading 1 Corinthians in my morning time with the Lord. In chapter 9:24 & 27 I was confronted again with a challenge the Lord gave me as I entered ministry way back. The challenge for me is to constantly work on the spiritual disciplines. In doing so to stay close to Jesus so that I don’t run aimlessly but run the race of my life with purpose and direction. As I strive to do this my life will reflect the depth of my faith journey and be a light to others that encourages them to give their all to follow Jesus.
My time with the Manukau City Baptist seniors went well with some very good responses. Its interesting how different people get vastly different learnings from what is presented. The Lord works His will in each of us regardless of what is preached. No one fell asleep which is a plus isn’t it.
I continue to work with Brad in Brisbane for the Leadership Course there. We have decided to run the course as two separate weeks spaced a couple of months apart.
The follow up with Arataki Ministries in Whangarei was a good time with each team member and their leader meeting to work through their role and the Position Result Description which they will work from. Now Arataki nearly have all their workers having a PRD and finding it is very helpful in tightening their work output.
I completed the work on workshop 3 with Simply Mobilizing team. The previous two workshops I’ve helped with have now been run internationally. This next one will go international soon. I have picked up the supervision of an amazing couple who are mission workers here in NZ for that organisation.
I have signed up another Baptist Pastor for supervision and am waiting for yet another Baptist pastor to get back to me in late November.
I was supposed to be in Chiang Mai Thailand for ITA Council and Board meetings but I felt not to go as the family aren’t ready for me to be so far away after the heart attack. I was asked to send a short video greeting to the group. The new CEO has asked me to lead a committee on the development of the Leadership Matters course curriculum. It is with two men whom I deeply respect. Pray for wisdom as later we begin this task.
I will be preaching three times in different churches in November.
Most of us are doing well. Kayla has had no further seizures and the EEG suggest there is no ongoing epilepsy, PTL. Ada is still waiting to hear when her operation to remove the metal work will happen. She has to be careful walking past magnets. Jonny our son in law is having rotator cuff surgery today. Yvonne Hannah and I will be going down to Ashburton for a week from this Sunday to help.
My heart fitness gym sessions are going well and the heart nurses and physio’s who supervise us are please with my progress. In mid-November, I will be having a full check up at Middlemore Hospital super clinic. It is to evaluate how the heart recovery is going. Please pray it will show very good progress to full healing.
Otherwise, we are all good. Aimee is still looking for more work please pray she gets another 20 hours.
Yvonne is working to get Hannah to re-engage in her school work and to pick up doing tasks like setting the table. We ask for prayer that the Lord will give back Hannah’s speech and singing. It is rare for her to say any words and this continues to be a distress to us.
We are grateful for your prayers and support and pray that the Lord blesses you for your involvement in this important ministry to the Church.
May the Lord’s peace be in your hearts and minds as you journey with him in what ever He has you engage in.
Every blessing
Rex, Yvonne, Rachel, Jonny, Caleb & Ada, Jeremy, Sakura, Kayla & Chloe, Tim & Aimee & Hannah.
