We are a week away from Christmas day. I hope and pray that your preparation for that glorious day is going well. We pray too that you will have some good relaxing time with family and friends.
My trip to the ITA council meetings in Bangkok went very well. Thanks for your prayers. It is always a privilege to be with the men and women of the ITA leadership whose lives are spent passionately serving our Lord.
I have finished today with the supervisions for the year and now will work on family things.
Last Friday we had a tragedy and need your prayers. Last Friday our house was partially burnt down from our farm neighbours burn off of pine tree rubbish. Some of the burning embers landed in our gutters and the House caught fire. Fortunately, the fire brigade stopped it from spreading through the whole house and kept it in the roof space. The Fire Chief said we were about two to five minutes away from losing the whole house. For the next eight months we won’t be able to stay in our house and currently we are staying with one of our sons. Through our insurance we are trying to secure temporary Rental accommodation for the whole 8 months. There are many miracles and or graces of God as we had driven out to get away from all the smoke. If we had stayed in the house we could have suffered some serious smoke inhalation issues. PTL We were able to bring Hannah into the situation in a controlled way as there were multiple fire appliances and firemen and women in all their breathing gear wandering around by our house. Fortunately, no one was hurt and our neighbour has admitted fault which means hopefully no problem about his insurance finally covering the rebuild of our house. We have been told that all the roof and all the structures in the roof will be replaced and as they do that they will discover whether they have to replace all the internal walls as well. It has been a stressful few days, but we have felt the peace of God with us and the strength of the prayers of friends. A rental property we are hoping to get will allow Rachel and her family to continue the plan to be with us over Christmas.
Please pray for us and especially Hannah who is struggling to understand why we can’t sleep at home. There is much to do as we have to get everything out of the house before the rebuild can begin. With Christmas and the Kiwi holidays upon us, things will stop for a while. The insurance team working on the site are doing a great job of getting the assessments and supporting the roof done before the break.
A house fire isn’t something most of us ever think will happen to us but it certainly ‘ups’ the pressure but also gives us more insight into how the Lord supports us during trying times.
Our granddaughter Ada has had more x-rays on her dislocated hips ordered by the specialist. No sign of an appointment from him.
Thank you for your continued support. We trust that the Christmas time will be a peaceful and refreshing time.
Every blessing
Rex, Yvonne, Rachel, Jonny, Caleb & Ada, Jeremy, Sakura, Kayla & Chloe, Tim & Aimee & Hannah.
